Building a smart summer camp
for smart summer kids

The Challenge

Create an online learning platform for 12 - 18 years old students.

It will transform the in-person learning experience into a 100% digital experience.

 

Our Client

 

  • In-person language courses;

  • English / Portuguese | 12 - 18 y/o;

  • The main attraction is the summer camp;

  • An app for students who cannot attend the summer camp;

 

Methodology: Design Thinking

First things first... 
Step one was to EMPATHIZE.

After discussing a bit about the project and in order to be able to start knowing our users we filled the Lean Survey Canvas below.

Qualitative Interview

Main object of the interviews was:

  • Students:

Learn about their summer camp experiences, about their habits with online education platforms and understand their preferences regarding learning;

Note: during the interview with the students we realized that we needed to lear also understand also about teaching methods to be able to develop a complete solution.

 

  • Teachers:

Learn about the teaching experiences and methods and their main challenges;

We developed the below Low-Fidelity paper prototype to start testing.

Note: due to the short time of the project we only developed the flow and screens for one task, which was: complete an outdoor challenge.

Note: during the tests, we did some small adjusts into the prototype as we could see repetitive behaviors patrons.
